Shocking footage shows a hooded man shuffling along the ridge of the roof, around 60 metres off the ground. After reaching the mast he pulls down the flag, video shows, before successfully raising the Palestinian flag in its place. Gathered crowds below celebrated below as the blue and white banner was thrown to the floor, cheering the man who then climbed down and absconded.

She said it was her aunt that initially alerted her and her mother to the horrific Facebook post that she says showed her grandmother's final moments - in a pool of blood on the floor of her house in Israel. The murder is just one of hundreds of deaths which have occurred since Saturday, when Hamas gunman stormed into Israel and indiscriminately attacked civilians. Israeli officials have said more than 1,000 of their people have been killed.  The shocking revelation, if true, provides a glimmer of hope for a despairing family who were forced to watch videos of an unconscious and partially naked Shani paraded through the streets on the back of a pickup truck by Hamas militants as onlookers spat on her motionless body. Shani's mother Ricarda Louk told German outlet Bild: 'We now have evidence that Shani is alive but has a serious head injury and is in critical condition. Every minute is critical. 'You have to act quickly and get Shani out of the Gaza Strip!' she declared in the message directed at German officials. 'We shouldn't argue about questions of jurisdiction now!' Shani, 22, is German but grew up in Israel, and was one of hundreds of unsuspecting partygoers at the Nova festival where Hamas conducted a massacre of some 260 civilians.

 Terrified revellers fled for their lives as they were surrounded by Hamas gunmen who descended on the site in paragliders, motorbikes and pick-up trucks. It was several hours before help would arrive, leaving militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns free to carry out a murderous rampage. At least 260 were killed in the massacre while many are still missing - probably dead or taken hostage by the bloodthirsty militants. As rescuers continue to sift through the deadly wreckage of the attack yesterday, the Mail recounts how the terror unfolded.         

 Shiri Silberman-Bibas, 30, was hiding in a safe room with her husband Yarden and their nine-month-old Kfir and three-year-old Ariel when Israel was invaded by the militants on Saturday. Armed with just a small pistol, Yarden hoped to defend his family and their home in in Kibbutz Nahal Oz as villages were raided - in an attack which saw hundreds of Israelis killed and over 100 taken hostage. He texted his family 'I love you all,' as they hid, according to reports. Then, 30 minutes later he said ominously: 'They're coming in.' Later, video emerged showing the distraught mother clutching her two children as they are kidnapped, with horrified onlookers screaming: 'She has a baby.' The family has not been heard from since and Shiri's parents, Yosi and Margit Silberman, who are in their late 60s, are also missing and feared abducted. Around 150 Israelis, many of them civilians, are believed to have been kidnapped by the militants in the bloodies...

 The attacks, which Israeli former military general Yaakov Amidror said were made possible by a 'huge failure of the intelligence system and military apparatus', came by land and air with Hamas gunmen flying into Israel using paragliders while other units cut wires in border fences, bulldozed walls. Harrowing videos captured by Hamas insurgents using helmet-mounted GoPro cameras and smartphones showed how unsuspecting Israeli soldiers were gunned down in their barracks while others were beaten, tied up and frogmarched away or bundled into cars and pickup trucks. In other clips, Hamas fighters are seen gliding across the border and landing near a rural site holding a musical festival, where they proceeded to mow down some 260 unarmed partygoers in cold blood.   Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said atrocities committed by Hamas during its attack on Israel mirrored those carried out by the jihadist group Islamic State. 'The atrocities committed by Hamas have not been seen since ISIS atrocities. Bound children executed along with their families. Young men and women shot in the back, executed. Other horrors I won't describe here,' Netanyahu said. 'We have always known who Hamas is. Now the entire world knows. Hamas is ISIS. And we will defeat it just like the enlightened world defeated ISIS.  Hamas' armed wing said on Monday it will begin executing an Israeli civilian captive in return for any new Israeli bombing of civilian houses without pre-warning.  Hamas armed wing spokesman Abu Obaida said they have been acting in accordance with Islamic instructions by keeping the Israeli captives safe and sound, blaming the intended move on Israel's stepped-up bombing and killing of civilians inside their homes in air strikes without warning them.

Palestinian and Israeli supporters have clashed at a London Underground station as police desperately try and keep the peace on a night where hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters have descended on the Israeli embassy. Video showed dozens of police officers attempting to divide demonstrators at High Street Kensington Tube station while a pro-Palestine rally took place outside. Fireworks were seen being launched by pro-Palestine protesters on High Street Kensington - some towards the boarded up Israeli embassy - while many were unable to push through heaving crowds. It coincided with Israelis gathering outside Downing Street to hold a vigil for the victims and hostages taken by Hamas after the terror group launched its violent assault over the Gaza border on Saturday. In Kensington, pro-Palestine protesters chanted 'Israel is a terrorist state' and 'Allahu akhbar', with stalls set up touting 'Free Palestine' merchandise in the upmarket shopping district.

 

  A lone Israel supporter stood up to pro-Palestine supporters acting as apologists for Hamas today as they demonstrated outside the Labour party conference. In fiery scenes one Labour member took on around 100 flag-waving demonstrators, telling them they were apologists for murder and should be ashamed of themselves. They responded by booing, chanting 'racist Israel' and demanding he be removed by police - something officers refused to do.

 srael Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Monday to 'change the Middle East' in response to Hamas' unprecedented terror attack over the weekend. 'What Hamas will experience will be difficult and terrible... we are going to change the Middle East,' Netanyahu told officials visiting Jerusalem from the country's south, where Hamas militants carried out a surprise attack on Saturday morning. 'This is only the beginning... we are all with you and we will defeat them with force, enormous force.' On Monday afternoon, Netanyahu posted a montage of clips showing the aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip. Officials earlier ordered a 'complete siege' on the Gaza Strip, cutting off food and electricity as it prepares for a massive ground offensive 'within 48 hours' after Hamas launched a deadly surprise attack this weekend in what has been described as the Jewish state's 'worst day in history'.

A few moments later, the tattoo artist would be captured by Hamas terrorists and massacred alongside 259 other revellers during their assault on Israel. Shani, who is in her early 20s and grew up in Israel, would then be stripped naked by the same fighters and paraded through the streets in front of jeering crowds who spat on her motionless body in sickening scenes. Harrowing video shows her naked body splayed in the back of the truck, with one leg at an unnatural angle, while being surrounded by the four Hamas terrorists who were shouting 'Allahu Akbar'. Her family, who are desperately hoping that Shani is still alive despite the footage of her body, said she was a pacifist who refused to take up the military service that is mandatory in Israel due to her views. Wilko closed its final 41 stores at the end of trading today - but not before some disappointed customers had visited one last time. The shelves were largely empty at one branch in Wood Green, north London, and a 'this store is now closed' notice was displayed outside the store. Disappointed shoppers, including a woman who had been a customer for 15 years, said the closures is 'really sad, especially as Christmas is coming'. Wilko has been shutting its 400 UK stores over the past month after tumbling into administration in August.
