'You are the light of my life': Heartbroken parents leave tragic tribute to beautician daughter, 26, who was shot in the head while partying with her sister at pub on Christmas Eve before other revellers desperately tried CPR to save her
The heartbroken parents of an innocent 26-year-old woman who was killed in a horrifying pub shooting on Christmas Eve have left a tragic tribute to her at the scene of her killing. Elle Edwards was celebrating Christmas in the Lighthouse Inn
(top right and bottom right), in Wallasey, a village near Liverpool, with her sister and friends when she was shot in the head. Shocked revellers desperately performed CPR on the beautician in a bid to save her life, but Ms Edwards, who was described by friends as a 'crazy diamond' died at the scene. This afternoon her disconsolate parents and family added to the growing sea of flowers and tributes left outside the pub, calling her 'the light of my life'. 'To my beautiful Elle, you are the light of my life, you will never be gone,' her parents wrote (left). In doing so they joined other tributes posted online by her friends after her death in the shooting, which happened as revellers were celebrating the festive season. Four men who were also in the packed pub also received gunshot wounds, including a 28-year-old who remains in a critical condition in hospital, and a major police investigation is underway to try and find the shooter. The gunman is understood to have fled the scene in a dark vehicle, believed to be a Mercedes Benz, while onlookers desperately tried to save Ms Edwards' life.
