The hackers posted several abusive tweets, with one stating “f*** the queen” while another branded pop star Ed Sheeran a “ginger f***er”. Piers’ account name was also changed to ‘lol’ at one point, before being re-named ‘Michael’. The account tried denying Piers had been hacked after Twitter users began getting suspicious, simply writing: “No I’m not.” Some Twitter users were hoping the hackers would expose Piers’ Direct Messages on the platform. Fans wondered whether the hackers could post any communications the journalist had shared with Meghan Markle, whom he has consistently been very critical of.
